Private Training Policy

Please read the Ottawa Canine School’s following policies carefully so there are no surprises! These policies were put into place so that we can offer all of our beloved clients the best possible service and attention they deserve.

 

By purchasing a private training session, you are agreeing to the following terms and conditions:

Payment

Once you have paid the private training fee in full, your spot is reserved! Your trainer will then contact you to schedule your appointment (time, date, and location)

Payment methods:

You can pay online using your credit card or via PayPal (you do not need a PayPal account).

You can send an Email Money Transfer to chantal@ottawak9school.com 

School credit: School credit does not expire.

Private training package validity

Private training packages are good for 6 months. This means that from your first to your 

last session, no more than 6 months will have passed. After the 6 months, your prepaid

private sessions will no longer be valid.

 Refund

Prepaid training time is non-refundable. When you book and pay for a session, we are saving

that time for you.  Your payment reserves a spot in your trainer’s schedule, preventing others

from booking. We are dedicated to maintaining quality and timely private training services.

If your dog cannot participate in the training sessions due to health reasons,  a note from your vet

will be required for a refund in school credits. Illnesses for dogs include injuries and conditions

or diseases that prevent your dog from continuing training. It does not include spay/neuter.

The request for a refund must be done within five business days of the vet visit.  After five

business days, we will not honour the request. The amount refunded will be the unused portion

minus the $25 administration fee.

Rescheduling

When you book and pay for a session, we are saving a session slot just for you. All

appointments must be cancelled with 48-hour notice. Missed appointments or those

cancelled within less than 48 hours will be charged a full session fee. If you need to

reschedule your appointment, contact your trainer at least 48 hours and we will happily

reschedule your appointment. Emails to the school will not be considered for cancellations.

Session cancellation due to weather

We train rain or shine, but sometimes the weather may affect how safe, productive and effective we can be. If the weather threatens to impede safety and training, your trainer will contact you to discuss and possibly reschedule. Please ensure your contact information is up-to-date. You will not lose a session due to these special circumstances.

Private Training Etiquette

  1. Be on time for your lesson so that your instructor can start the session on time.
  2. For in-person lessons, please keep your dog on a 6-foot flat leash (no flexi leashes) at all times unless otherwise instructed.
  3. We do not condone the use of choke collars, prong/pinch collars, slip collars and electronic collars (shock/beep/vibrate/spray). You must remove these training tools before your training session. If you need suggestions for training tools, please contact us as we are more than happy to provide alternatives.

Photo & video release

We may take photos and/or videos for marketing purposes. You may choose not to

have your photos and/or videos taken or published, by sending an email

to: info@ottawak9school.com.
