Summer Camp 2020

The Ottawa Canine School proudly presents the 2020 Summer Camp for Kids and Dogs!

We know that children can make excellent dog trainers! The Summer Camp for Kids and Dogs program at the Ottawa Canine School is fun and educational.

Our Summer Camp is for children (9 years old and older) and their dogs (puppies welcome).

Qualified trainers and excellent camp counsellors will make sure that kids and dogs have a wonderful week at camp.

What will my kids and dogs learn at camp?

Here are a few things the campers will do during our week-long Summer Camp:

  • Learn dog training skills using positive training methods
  • Master clicker training
  • Learn agility, treibball, canine hide & seek, scent detection, tricks and more!
  • Make dog toys & treats
  • Learn about pet safety, pet health, and basic pet care
  • Learn about canine communication and T-Touch
  • Make arts and crafts
  • and so much more!

See sample schedule here.

All participants will get to keep the toys they have made, a clicker, and art that their dog makes, as well as the homemade dog treats made during camp.

Ready to get started?

Children can sign up for one or multiple weeks. If your child has special needs, we may be able to accommodate.

First, sign-up and pay to confirm your child’s spot. Please ensure that your child meets the age requirement. Your dog must not exhibit fearful or reactive behaviours towards dogs and people.

Click the button above to be taken to a list of our upcoming classes, and then selecting the class of your choice. Remember to check class dates, day, and time.

Second, submit an application form for the Meet & Greet. Your dog and child must attend a Meet & Greet before your child’s camp starts. The goal of this meeting is to screen your dog to ensure Fido is a good fit for summer camp. We will only contact you for a Meet & Greet once we receive full payment and your application form.

Please complete the application form to schedule a Meet & Greet

If your dog and child are not a good fit, we will provide a full refund in the original method of payment.

If you are a returning camper, you do not need to attend a Meet & Greet unless you are bringing a new dog.

If you would like to purchase Before and After Camp Care, please select the option(s) in the same form and we will send you an invoice to confirm your purchase at least two weeks before the camp start date. Thank you!
