Puppy Kindergarten

Congratulations! You have (or are getting) a puppy!

“Proper socialization combined with positive reinforcement-based training in the context of a group puppy class helps puppies grow into well-adjusted pets.” – Dr. Brenda Griffin, DVM, MS, Diplomate ACVIM

Getting an early start on training pays off.  The earlier a dog starts its education, the better they become at learning new things. What a wonderful opportunity you have to mold your new puppy into the confident, well mannered adult dog you will be able to take (almost) anywhere.

To learn more about the importance of proper socialization during the critical early puppyhood, please read the American Veterinary Society of Animal Behavior’s position statement.

Each class allows for off-leash playtime so that the puppies may develop their social skills and bite inhibition with one another. We also include socialization to people and facilitate this by having handlers trade puppies briefly throughout the course. We introduce new objects and situations to the puppies, such as agility tunnels or being picked up and handled on a table, simulating a veterinary exam.  Simply pick which class you’d like to attend and sign up for 6 weeks of puppy fun!
