Good Manners Training (Obedience)

The Ottawa Canine School offers obedience training at all levels.

BASIC GOOD MANNERS
Looking to teach your dog to walk well on leash, ignore distractions and improve their recall?  Start here.

Basic Good Manners (formerly known as Basic Obedience)

This class is designed for dogs and owners who already have a few basic skills like Sit & Down, but want to work on the basic good manners that we all want to see in our pet dogs.  Using the best and latest training strategies, you and your dog will learn these practical skills to help you navigate real life situations:

  • Coming when called
  • Loose Leash Walking
  • Impulse Control exercises
  • Ignoring distractions
  • ...  and more!

Classes are limited in size to be able to offer you the best quality of  instruction a group class can  offer. There is no off leash play as the dogs are now learning to focus on you and behave on leash.

Price: $200 + tax
Course Length: 6 lessons / 60 minutes each (a short break at the halfway mark)
Max. Class Size: 6 dogs
Prerequisites: This class is for dogs that can sit and down on cue (at least when there are no distractions).  This class is for dog friendly dogs; if you're unsure if your dog would be a good fit for this class, check out our popular Reactive Rover class or contact us with your questions.  Dogs must be at least 6 months and have up to date vaccines.
