Top 10 frequently asked questions!

1. Will there be more classes in September or after?

Yes, Fall schedule will be released on August 6th, 2019. Please check our website on that date.

2. When can I start Puppy Kindergarten classes?

You can start Puppy Kindergarten classes anytime as long as your puppy meets all the prerequisites for the class and a spot is available. Puppy Kindergarten I and II are based on rolling admissions, which means you can start as soon as a spot becomes available when a puppy graduates.

3. I want to start on [insert date] for Puppy Kindergarten I or II, but I cannot find the date during registration. Can you please help?

You will be able to see a list of the dates during the registration process. Please create a client account and register for the timeslot you want.

When you cannot find the date you want, it means that the class is full for that particular date. Please try registering in another timeslot or start at a later date.

4. How can I register for a class that is marked FULL?

For Puppy Kindergarten I and II, we mark a class as FULL when spots are unavailable for the next 2 weeks or more. If you would still like to proceed with registration and start class later, please create a client account and email us for registration. The next available date is written in the Session Notes (yellow box) after you click on the timeslot on class schedule.

For all other classes, please email us to be placed on the waiting list.

5. Are you going to add more [insert class]?

We add new classes following the academic school calendar: Fall 2019 (September – December), Winter 2020 (January – April), Spring/Summer 2020 (May – August). We schedule classes every 4 months following the academic year.

Class schedule will be released on the first week of the month before the semester starts. For example, Fall 2019 classes will be opened for enrollment on August 7th, 2019 at 12.00pm.

If it is not on our schedule for that particular semester, then it will not be offered.

6. I want to register my puppy for an obedience class. Is Puppy Kindergarten suitable for my puppy?

Puppy Kindergarten classes are socialization classes. Please click here for more information about puppy socialization.

Dogs have a sensitive period of socialization that closes once your puppy hits approximately 4 to 6 months old. Therefore, we choose to focus on socialization for puppies rather than basic obedience skills (e.g., Sit, Down, Loose Leash Walking, Recall, and more). Dogs of any age can learn basic obedience skills, but socialization is a narrow phase in your dog’s development.

We do, however, dedicate a lesson on Puppy Manners in each level of Puppy Kindergarten (I, II, and III) so that your puppy has a foundation in basic manners. Once your puppy is 6 months old, you can enroll in Basic Good Manners to focus on basic obedience skills.

7. I am going to missed a class. What should I do?

Before registering for a class, please ensure that you are able to attend all lessons. Class start date, graduation date, and holidays are available on our class schedule and class calendar.

If you still end up missing a class, there is no free make-up class or extension to your graduation date unless the missed class is Puppy Kindergarten I and II during long weekends*. You can schedule a private make-up class for $35 + tax (30-minute and only available on weekdays before 6pm).

*We run Puppy Kindergarten I and II during most long weekends to ensure that your puppy receives timely socialization. Attendance is optional during long weekends. We will simply extend your graduation date by a week. Please note that you will end up repeating a lesson as our classes are on a 6-week lesson rotation. If you do not want to repeat a class, please email us so that we can find you another timeslot provided that your puppy is not too old.

8. Can I get a refund for a group class?

Yes, you can get a refund if you provide us with a written notice at least 5 business days before the class starts. When you purchase a class, a spot is reserved for you. We are a small business, so please be considerate by requesting for refund with ample time so that we can find your replacement.

More information about our Group Class Policy can be found here.

9. When does [insert class] start? How much does it cost? How long does it run? What time is the class?

Please click CLASSES on our website to see class descriptions (cost, length, prerequisites, etc.) for all our classes. When you click SIGN-UP (big blue button) at the end of the class descriptions, you will be redirected to the class schedule that shows that class dates, holidays, and class time. Please check our class calendar for school holidays.
